What do truth mean?

At the First Coming, Jesus told the Jews who believed in him, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (Jn 8:31-32).  

초림 예수님은 자기를 믿은 유대인들에게 “너희가 내 말에 거하면 참 내 제자가 되고, 진리를 알지니 진리가 너희를 자유케 하리라.”고 하셨다.

In Jn 17:16-17 he said, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” Through the truth one can be freed and be victorious. Through the truth one becomes sanctified, and it is written that this truth is God’s Word.

요한복음 17:16-17에는 “내가 세상에 속하지 아니함같이 저희도 세상에 속하지 아니하였삽나이다. 저희를 진리로 거룩하게 하옵소서. 아버지의 말씀은 진리니이다.”라고 하셨다. 곧, 진리로 자유함을 얻고, 진리로 승리하게 되고, 진리로 거룩하게 된다고 하셨으며, 이 진리는 아버지의 말씀이라고 하셨다.

What do freedom mean?

Concerning the “Word” in the Bible, the Word is God, and heaven and earth were created through this Word. Nothing among creation was created without it, and it is life and light (Jn 1:1-4). The Word of God is the good seed, and through this good seed grows the tree of life. People are reborn through this Word and become the twelve crops of fruit that are born from the tree of life every month (refer to Lk 8:11, Mt 13:31-32, 37, Jn 14:6, Jn 15:1, Jn 3:5, Rv 22:1-2).

‘말씀’에 대해 성경에 본바, 하나님의 말씀은 곧 하나님이며, 천지 창조도 말씀으로 하셨고 이 말씀으로 창조되지 않은 것은 하나도 없다 하셨고, 이 말씀이 생명이며, 빛이라고 하셨다(요 1:1-4). 또 하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 좋은 씨이며, 이 씨로 된 나무가 생명나무이며, 이 말씀으로 거듭나게 되고, 이 말씀이 생명나무에서 달마다 맺히는 12가지 열매라고 하셨다.

What do victory mean?

Since it is written that we overcome ourselves, the world, and the devil through God’s Word of life, which is the truth (refer to Mt 4:10-11, Jn 16:33, Eph 6:10-17, Rv 15:2-4), the Word of God is the road to hope and heaven for those who carry out a life of faith.  

하나님의 생명의 말씀 곧 진리로 나를 이기고, 세상을 이기며, 마귀를 이긴다고 하셨으니, 하나님의 말씀은 신앙인에게 소망과 천국을 주는 천국의 길이다.

It is also written in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 that promises (or blessings) are given to the one who overcomes. If the one who receives the promises does not appear, then no one can be saved. In order to receive this promise, someone must fight and overcome Satan (the Nicolaitans, the beast with seven heads and ten horns, the dragon). 

계시록 2, 3장에는 이긴 자에게 주는 약속(복)이 기록되어 있다. 이 약속을 받는 자가 없으면 그 누구도 구원받을 자가 없다. 이 약속을 받기 위해서는 사단(니골라당 : 7머리와 10뿔 가진 짐승 : 용)과 싸워 이겨야 한다.

With what can he be victorious? 

Revelation chapter 12 states that he overcomes by the blood of Jesus and the word of testimony. Therefore, this word is the truth, and with it, one can overcome.

무엇으로 이길 수 있는가? 예수님의 피와 증거하는 말씀으로 이긴다고 계 12장에 기록되어 있다. 이 말씀이 진리이고, 진리로 이기는 것이다. 

Jesus overcame the world not with a sword but with the truth.

If the Word of truth is within us, and we overcome ourselves, the world, and the devil, then the kingdom of God can be created on this earth.

  

예수님이 세상을 이긴 것은 검(劍)으로써가 아니요, 진리로 세상을 이긴 것이다. 진리의 말씀이 내 안에 있으면 나를 이기고, 세상을 이기고, 마귀를 이기므로, 하나님의 나라를 이 땅에 창조할 수 있다.
